Why Simple Divorce Advice Exists

wisdom divorceThis website is here for one reason and one reason only and that is to help people going through divorce and give them options that they may not have thought about.

There are some major emotional blocks you face when going through divorce. They are on most levels and touch every part of your life. Firstly, how am I going to survive, financially, emotionally, without my children, working as a single parent, etc, etc.

These questions just keep going around and around in your head and they don’t seem to get answered they just seem to get bigger.

I know because I have been there. I had four children ranging from 4years to 16years to accommodate and support and I had not been full time in the work force for 17 years. I was terrified that I wouldn’t be able to support my children in the way I wanted and this fear made me make some bad financial decisions and end up even worse off.

As I was going through my divorce I realized that there didn’t seem to be the sort of help I needed, which was practical help in reestablishing myself and keeping an income coming in. I didn’t need to talk about my marriage with a therapist, I felt that all I had done for years was talk about my marriage. I needed a fast lesson on how to be a bread winner, financial whizz, super mum, single parent, single woman, and the myriad of other skills I had shared with my husband.

The realization that there was not the help I needed spurred me onto create that help and the more I work and coach men and women going through divorce the more I realize that there needs to be a place full of the information that these people are looking for.

Each category may only appeal to a few people and that’s OK but it is the combination of the categories that I hope will appeal as everyone is different and everyone has different needs at different times.

Some of us may need to learn how to bring in extra income while others may need to do some self analysis. This is all normal and slowly working your way through what it is you need will bring you out the other side whole and courageous enough to make the life you want.

Simple Divorce Advice is my gift to others who find themselves in a situation out of their control and needing to move forward.
