There are so many other goal setting quotes that may motivate us into thinking of our aims in life and setting them down as goals. Here are just some of them.

“A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.” This quote from Francis Bacon has some point to it. All of us come across several opportunities in life, and it’s up to us to grab them. Some of us fail to do so because we are afraid. But for some of us who are wise, opportunities do not simply come our way. Instead, they make their own opportunities. They find something so simple, and they make it into something that can have endless possibilities.

“The significance of a man is not in what he attains but in what he longs to attain.” This quote is from Kahlil Gibran, and again, I agree. Most of us are driven by accomplishments – wanting to do this, wanting to be that. But what we often neglect is the fact that our significance lies not in what we achieve in life, but on our capacity to dream, to aim, to hope. By longing for something, we are pushed to become better persons, and that is where our significance lies.

“To reach a port, we must sail. Sail, not tie at anchor. Sail, not drift.” This final quote is delivered by Franklin Roosevelt, and it talks about having a purpose or a direction in life. He said that in order to reach a certain destination, we must sail. We must not lie idle and wait. He also emphasized that sailing is different from drifting. When we drift, we only allow the tide to bring us anywhere. When we sail, we know where we are headed to and we know that we will get there.
